I am very impressed with the service and care from all personal at Oakmont Advanced Dentistry. From the moment I entered the office for my 6-month cleaning/exam, I was greeted by friendly receptionist, and then taken to exam room by technician, who was very pleasant. She explained what she was going to do (X-rays) and was very careful while doing so. The hygienist was excellent! She was so careful and meticulous with cleaning, being careful not to damage the gum tissue. I met the dentist who was most welcoming and did a great exam, and made recommendations and explained them. When I left, all office staff in front were so nice, and I told them how impressed I was with the way the office was run. Highly recommend!
Thanksgiving is upon us. So is American Diabetes Month. You might think it’s random for a dentist to mention diabetes, but we understand that there’s an oral-systemic connection, or a relationship between oral and systemic (overall) health.
Specifically, diabetes and periodontal disease seem to have a relationship where one affects the other, and vice versa. Researchers think this might be because they’re both inflammatory conditions. They also think that gum disease can be hard for diabetics to fend off because diabetes makes infection harder to get rid of.
If you have diabetes or might be at risk, it’s important to partner with a dentist who understands the oral-systemic connection and how your overall and oral health affect each other. Dr. Resek and Dr. Bell treat gum inflammation and infection with time-tested methods and modern laser methods.
